Wood is rotted so soft it crumbles, such as the bottom structural support for the lead glass window inside the middle. The innsulation is molded and soaked. The rehabber that did our house, utilized plaster behind the tile, and only covered a 2 foot section at the base of the tub. So for the past 5 years water has just been seeping inside the back of the plastic and rotting the wood. It’s the outside extior wall, behind the siding that’s molded and soft. Plus all the structural beams below and surrounding the window. It smells and is pretty rank. We have torn out all of the damaged areas that aren’t structural (the tiles, plaster, plastic, insulation etc.) Need to know if the beams need to be replaced or can I just kill the mold with an industrial cleaner and develop the wall back over it. Any assist is greatly appreciated.
